As people of faith in the God of Abraham, we accept His Word as absolute truth.
However, it is only natural, only human, for cracks of doubt to creep in.

Abraham heard God, believed God, & then acted upon what he heard, in obedience….this faith & focus, set him apart from all others in the Ancient World. In living his daily life according to this perspective ,Abraham developed a loving, trusting, relationship with God, which defeated doubt.
How does one come to faith in the God of Abraham and to faith in the truths of the Bible? Through experience that validates the faithfulness of God…over and over…as revealed in that Word. There is life in the Word of God that “converts”/renews the soul, as King David knew (related in the Psalms) and as did/do a multitude of others.
Viewed merely as an academic tome, the Bible does little for the heart, though it most certainly can instruct the intellect.
Over and over I have seen this Word and its promises — a covenant to mankind — proven to be true in my life. God, as Isaiah said, is there before we even call, and while we are still speaking, He is heard.
Secular people of whatever background do not know this covenant experientiallly, though they may know it culturally or cerebrally.
God, as revealed to Abraham, beckons humans to be in relationship with him above all other gods, competing philosophies, political ideologies, etc.
