Gideon – why don’t you ask Jesus to reveal himself to you? A dangerous suggestion!

Here’s Gidon’s response:

Hi Megan, thanks for writing!
From time to time I get such a question from my readers.
I prefer to let this topic stay outside of the realm of our conversations, because Root Source is an “envelope pushing” organization.
Throughout history, Jews knew that interacting with Christians meant either giving up their life or giving up their faith. For this reason, most Jews are used to not wanting to interact with Christians at all.
God has put into my heart to build a bridge, to BE a bridge, between Christians and Jews.
Needless to say, a two thousand year old tradition (Jews staying away from Christians) is hard to overcome. The work of a bridge is not easy.
Thank God, I am seeing some success in my mission: dozens of Jews are beginning to teach on Root Source, engaging with their Christian students and study partners, often developing friendships, and many tens of thousands of Christians are accessing our content.
But all this engagement is based on one important rule: mutual respect and love. That means loving each other for what they are, not for what they could be.
Megan, if I would take your “dangerous suggestion,” either nothing would happen, which might weaken your faith or someone else’s, or it would succeed and I would become a believer in Jesus.
That would result in my job of “bridge” immediately ending, and ALL of the Jewish teachers running away from Root Source. This is because it would be clear that Root Source was always nothing but a front for missionizing Jews (an accusation I hear often already). Do you think that is what God really wants?
