THE MONTH OF ELUL
1) The Biblical month of Elul!
Repentance, the key and the rule!
Romance of the ages,
As promised by sages!
The Lover and loved one’s renewal!
O draw me again to Your Presence
With Love never seen on this earth!
I gaze at Your face, what a wonder –
A jewel that shines beyond worth!
Dai dai dai etc.

2) We gently inhale this past year.
We exhale the future, no fear!
With deep introspection
We strive for perfection
For soon “Yom Teru’ah” is here!
Lord, transform my life into beauty!
Reach out to me, please take my hand!
Thru mountaintops and thru the valleys
Together we’ll walk thru this land!

3) Once more the Groom’s calling His loved one
To intimacy not known before!
The bride, will she answer
With joy, like a dancer?
He beckons with love at the door!
I am my Belovèd’s, and He’s mine!
We look to “suchot” when we’ll dine!
The sky filled with stars high above us!
Together we’ll sip one new wine.
