Gideon Ariel - Learning Session 2 - JPB 2026 in Jerusalem

In Learning Session 2 at JPB 2026 in Jerusalem, Gideon Ariel shared his personal journey as an Orthodox Jew and reflected on how his experiences led him to build bridges between Jewish and Christian communities. He opened with prayer and gratitude, thanking Christians who support Israel and expressing appreciation for relationships founded on faith and respect. Gideon described growing up in New York, developing a strong Jewish identity through Zionist education, and later being surprised to encounter Christian organizations in Jerusalem that sincerely supported Jewish people and Israel, challenging his previous perceptions shaped by history and his father’s experience as a Holocaust survivor. This inspired him to establish RootSource, an educational platform where Christians can learn directly from Jewish teachers about Torah, Jewish history, and Israel. He then introduced his recent project, We Must Not Forget, which began after meeting Holocaust survivor Rabbi Eliyahu Dermer and helping publish his life story in English before his passing. Through this experience, Gideon emphasized the importance of preserving Holocaust survivors’ testimonies and launched a mission to publish and protect these stories for future generations, encouraging people to remember history, strengthen Jewish-Christian friendship, and ensure that these voices are never lost.
