Ray Montgomery Shares His Christian Zionist Perspective at a Jewish Synagogue on Yom Kippur
On Yom Kippur 2026, the holiest day on the Jewish Calendar, Ray Montgomery shared his journey of repentance with the congregation at Temple Emanu-El in San Diego, California. He shares a bold and heart-felt message about his journey of discovery and research into the many sins and atrocities perpetrated against Jews by Christians over the centuries. By the time he was done with his research he was emotionally “undone”.
This video documents his own journey of discovery, his collaboration with Bob O'Dell to co-author "The LIST: Persecution of Jews by Christians Throughout History", and the Declaration of Repentance that was signed by 2,000 Christians within a few short weeks. On the 9th of Av in 2018 this Declaration of Repentance was presented to a delegation of Jewish dignitaries, which included Yuli Edelstein, the speaker of the Israeli Knesset at that time, and Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a Member of the Knesset then. Subsequently, Montgomery and O'Dell collaborated with Laura Densmore and other writers to produce the book "40 Days of Repentance: A Companion Guide to The LIST".
Ray Montgomery shares his personal experiences highlighting how reconciliation with the Jewish people begins with humble repentance, a crucial step in mending historical rifts between Jews and Christians by acknowledging past wrongs, and the need for understanding and healing between our two communities. This foundation then highlights how essential it is for Christians today to stand alongside the Jewish people - and speak out against - the rising tide of global Antisemitism.
He concludes with:
“Instead of building walls between us and focusing on the things that separate and divide us, I would rather focus on the things we have in common: we have Hashem, we have the Torah, we have the Tanakh; let’s start there!’
