Dr. Brad Young is the translator of The Newer Testament. We just completed the 5-part series. In case you missed it, here is the complete video as well as a link to the downloadable audio file.

The goal of the Newer Testament is to help readers “Hear it as they heard it.” To take us back to the First Century world and allow us to hear the words of the Greek New Testament as they would have been understood by the disciples of Jesus. The Newer Testament therefore authenticates the Hebraic heritage of the Bible.

Root Source is please to interview Dr. Brad Young, who is Professor Emeritus in Judaic Christian Studies in Biblical Literature at The Graduate School of Theology, Oral Roberts University.

In part 1, Bob O’Dell and Brad Young discuss the goals of the translation and how Brad Young first fell in love with the Bible. In part 2, Brad Young discuss his life in Israel, who he met there, and how that man shaped Brad’s work as translator. In part 3, Brad takes us into passages of the Newer Testament to reveal how the translation is different from any other work. He even shares how he translated John 3:16 differently! In part 4, Bob reads Galatians 6:15-16 and asks Brad for his take on the controversial phrase, “The Israel of God.” In part 5, Brad offers his take on the famous and controversial passage of Ephesians 2:14-18, regarding the relationship, and hostility between Jew and Gentile.
