Mr. Earl Cox
Israel Always
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, USA
What is the main focus of your activities today?
Providing financial assistance to Israeli families and organizations which engage in humanitarian projects and which operate with low overhead.
How long have you been doing that?
More than fifteen years
What are some of the successful related programs or projects that you have done this year and in past years?
Helped launch and continue to support “Operation Lifeshield” – an organization dedicated to saving Israeli lives. Operation Lifeshield places bomb shelters in areas of need in southern and northern Israel such as schools, senior centers, playgrounds, hospitals and other areas and gathering places where incoming terrorist rockets are a constant threat. In addition, I developed and supported special programs for Holocaust survivors. When it came to my attention that many survivors living in Sderot had never had the opportunity to visit Jerusalem due to financial hardships, my team and I arranged and financed several weekend trips to Jerusalem for these survivors. Today, the primary focus of my efforts on Israel’s behalf is to provide financial resources where needed to help individuals and families, as well as to educate and speak out against anti-Semitism and false propaganda put forth by liberal mainstream news outlets and the Palestinian public relations machine. Every week I distribute television and radio commentaries to broadcast outlets with messages of support for Israel. Additionally, I provide articles to newspapers both in the US and Jerusalem.
How did you get to where you are today?
Establishing relationships and working closely with Israeli government officials, religious and business leaders.
What is your “testimony”?
After leaving my political career in Washington DC where I had the privilege of serving four U.S. presidents in senior level positions, I returned to my second home located near the beach in South Carolina. For many years I have been a runner and the beach is a perfect place to run. One morning during my run I was startled when, out of nowhere, I heard a beautiful voice call my name … the name my boyhood friends and family call me which is Greg. I became known as Earl when I began my early career in television prior to my government service. Given the circumstances and the fact that I was alone, I discerned the voice to be that of God. This was something totally foreign to me but there was no other explanation. This voice asked me several questions one of which was I willing to give back to Him all that I had been given. Believing I was having a conversation with God, my answer was, of course, “yes.” This voice then proceeded to give me several instructions one of which was to become an advocate for Israel. Since that time I have devoted by life and resources to Israel and her people.
What do you think God is doing with regard to Jewish-Christian relations?
From my observation, God seems to be opening the eyes of people in Jewish and Christian communities around the world enabling us to see more clearly those elements that unite us rather than divide us. Without Judaism there would be no Christianity.
