What are some of the successful related programs or projects that you have done this year and in past years?
I have been instrumental in building the Fellowship Scholars Program on Christian campuses working with IFCJ. I have written course materials about Israel and Judaism that are being taught on numerous Christian college campuses. I am currently planning a trip that I will lead for leading Christian academics to come to Israel in January 2021. I was instrumental in the installation of the Lion of Judah sculpture in Jerusalem, a gift from numerous Evangelical leaders to the City of Jerusalem.

How did you get to where you are today?
I was a rabbi and rosh yeshiva for 11 years until Rabbi Riskin asked me to join CJCUC, where I was until July 2019. Prior to my rabbinic career I had dealings with Christian Zionists going back to 1995 when I was the executive director of the International Coalition for Missing Israeli Soldiers. Ever since then, the importance of the Jewish-Christian relationship has been at the forefront of my worldview.

What is your “testimony”?
Judaism is a universal faith. All are included in serving the one God, the God of Israel. Maimonides taught that Christianity, despite the problematic history of anti-semitism, would lead the world to faith in the God of Israel. Just as I see the State of Israel as the beginning of our redemption on the national level. I see the growing friendship between Jews and Christians as the beginning of the universal redemption in fulfillment of Maimonides’ teaching. Just as we dare not be passive in the process of our national redemption, we must be active – not passive – in the process of bringing all people together in service of the God of Israel. This is the highest aspiration of our faith in God.
