Gidon Ariel and Greg Temke - September 1, 2026
Gidon and Gregory Temke discussed Gregory’s new role as the Tennessee representative for Christians United for Israel (CUFI), beginning September 1, where he will focus on connecting pastors in Nashville and Memphis with the Jewish community and Israel. Gregory shared his experiences at a recent CUFI conference, his plans for upcoming training in San Antonio, and his interest in helping churches better understand the biblical and historical connection between Israel and Christianity. They also discussed challenges facing American churches, including declining church numbers and a shortage of pastors, as well as the limited biblical knowledge about Israel among some Christian leaders. Gidon provided historical context on Christian-Jewish relations and the development of Christian anti-Semitism, highlighting Constantine’s influence and the significance of Israel’s establishment in 1948. Gregory also shared plans to attend a synagogue, participate in a bar mitzvah and Shabbat celebration, and explore ways to organize Israel- and Jewish-focused events for churches in West Tennessee. They agreed to continue their conversation in two weeks, while Gregory plans to review Gidon’s book The List and further develop his work with CUFI.
