Lesson 2: Fear of God and the Binding of Isaac

In our second lesson of our course on Fear of God in the Hebrew Bible, we continue with the book of Genesis and follow the patriarch Abraham. We examine perhaps the most controversial episode of the Hebrew Bible, The Binding of Isaac, and explore the role of fearing God and standing up to tests of faith. I will compare this bible story to the Book of Job in the Hebrew Bible.
