Last week, I shared with our Root Source subscribers that I am traveling to Florida for my nephew’s Bar Mitzvah. I offered to come meet with friends of Root Source, and I was very excited to see how many people responded to this offer. I’m going for eight days, four of which I am banned to participate in anything besides family activities (thank you to my dear wife Devra:-). Over the four open days, I have nine meetings scheduled, including four presentations to small groups.
Let me tell you about a few of these meetings.
First of all, Pastor Scott Thomas, who besides for being the senior pastor as Free Life Chapel, is the Florida representative of Christians United For Israel (CUFI). I met Pastor Thomas for the first time about a half a year ago when he was in Jerusalem (we discovered each other through Twitter!). We had what I can only describe as an anointed time together. I am very grateful that Pastor Scott is taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with me, and I look forward to telling him more about Root Source.
Before meeting Pastor Scott in Lakeland, I am also going to meet with my old friends, Kimra and Doug Steckbeck, who are senior leaders in PJTN (Proclaim Justice to the Nations), a very important Pro-Israel organization led by Laurie Cardoza-Moore. Kimra and Doug literally took me in from the cold when I attended the National Religious Broadcasters convention a few years ago, and we have been great friends ever since. It is really worth traveling the long distance to meet with them. I am glad that they recently moved from Tennessee to Florida so I could visit them over this trip.
Maria Elena Martinez is the head of the Emanuel Ministry at the New Testament Baptist Church, and has graciously invited me to speak with her congregation about Jewish-Christian relations. I can not wait to report on how exciting that meeting is going to be.
Dr. David Pitcher is a great friend who is inviting me to Calvary Chapel Miami Beach and has arranged for me to speak with friends of Israel that belong to his church.
Two more meetings are scheduled, in Boca Raton and Cooper City, with Sue Trombino of Women Impacting The Nation (WIN) and Debbie Schmidt. I am very excited to befriend these women and speak with their Bible Circles and prayer groups.
If you will be in Florida this week and want to attend any of the meetings or initiate another meeting if it becomes possible, please email me at gidon@root-source.com. And I invite you to pray that on a future trip I will come to your state or country and meet you too! Complete the form here.
Here is my itinerary! (subject to change.)
