Bob asked me how connected The Vision of the Valley of the Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37:1-14) is to the Holocaust and Israel in the eyes of Orthodox Jews. He probably asked me that because he remembered that once I told him that for me on a scale of one to ten it is an eleven.
But a quick search on the Internet did not help me find an authoritative source for that understanding (perhaps because it is so obvious?) I found dozens of source sheets dealing with this topic created by members of Sefaria.org, and a very touching short talk by Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, former Chief Rabbi of Israel, but the clearest mapping of that prophetic chapter in Ezekiel to these two chapters in Jewish history I found not as a textual essay but as a photo essay uploaded to Youtube.
