Isaiah 59:20 – “And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the Lord.”

Israel and the Jews have always been a chosen nation.
The Mystery of Israel’s Salvation – Romans 11:26-27 “And in this way ALL Israel will be saved, as it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob’; ‘and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” This will happen when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

v28-29 “As regards the Gospel, they are enemies for your (Gentiles’) sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

Well, those _are_ pretty straightforward verses, aren’t they? But I am afraid we are preaching to the choir. I doubt anyone who believes in Replacement Theology, which means God has cast away the Jewish People, would ever find their way to Root Source, and certainly they wouldn’t stick around for any noticeable amount of time..

I appreciate Tommy’s passion but it is like asking modern day Americans to ask forgiveness for the sins of their great great great great grandfathers who owned slaves. I was never raised a Christian or any religion for that matter. My father was against religion and my mother followed his lead but she was more open to it. I was involved in the street gang life from the age of 13. But even at that age I began to take a keen interest in Israel. I was smitten with a love for Israel and it’s advances and in its struggles and I followed the life of Golda Meir and Menachem Begin. When the Six Day War occurred I was all over it. I bought books on Israel and of famous modern leaders, I had a subscription to the Jerusalem Post when they sent a weekly paper from Jerusalem made from what they called onion paper. I never had any Jewish friends and never knew any Jewish people personally. When I had my first paycheck job, with my first check I bought a Candelabra set with two candle holders at a nearby curio shop. It has Hebrew writing that to this day I have no idea what it says. I became a Christian at the rough age of twenty leaving the gang life when the Lord turned my life upside down and right side up. I have always desired to go to Israel all my life. I am now 65. There has always been some setback that has prevented me, yet I hold a deep desire to go. I say all that as a backdrop to brother Tommy’s comment. In my journey as a Christian I had never heard of Replacement Theology until about ten years ago. The way I humbly see it is that Martin Luther did bring a monumental change to the church and to western civilization by bringing back the church out of darkness back to the bible but he didn’t go far enough. He still carried with him many biblical teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Infant baptism, the splitting hairs of transubstantiation and consubstantiation to mention a couple. He didn’t make a clean break with the Catholic church doctrines, beliefs and tradition which in my opinion included their perverted treatment of the Jewish people from whom we gentiles received redemption and salvation through the Word of God they preserved for us even through threat of death and through, Yeshua HaMashiach our Jewish Savior. Their evil treatment of our beloved Jewish brothers and sisters was grossly evidenced during the Inquisitions and in their expulsion in 1492 and by many other horrible ways. So yes I get it what brother Tommy says but I think that conversation should be directed “To Those who hold to the Doctrine of Replacement Theology” and not broad paint all Christians with the title, “To Fellow Christians: Stop Stealing Jewish Identity.” Just saying.

Rafael, thank you for your long time support and friendship, and your sharing your own story and opinion!

I agree with you, that there are probably thousands and millions of Christians who have always loved Israel and had a healthy position regarding the Jews.
