This is a very important recording we are presenting about life in Israel.
With permission of Nehemia Gordon and his website nehemiaswall.com, we are rebroadcasting his interview with the people of Sderot, that small town in Israel that often receives rocket fire from Gaza.
I, Bob, thought I understood this story already, given that Sderot was in the news as often as it was, but Nehemia took it to a new level. He interviewed many residents, who only speak Hebrew, and then translated and got English speakers to add the voice-over. What results is all at once informative, fascinating, and in some respects heart-breaking. He warns the listeners at the beginning that some of the subject matter is difficult. While I have many takeaways from this excellent journalistic work, one of them is that I will never quite hear the English word “drizzle” in the same way again.
