When Moshe expresses his despair in leading the ever increasingly difficult Israelites, G-d decides to spread around the spirit of prophecy that had been Moshe’s alone up till now. Was this a good thing? Yehoshua, Moshe’s aide de camp, didn’t think so. But Moshe himself saw a virtue in the sharing of the spirit of prophecy.
